Scope
What was tested
Included: streaming layout, ISR homepage, server-fetched popular services/projects, removed app/(home)/loading.tsx, service-page carousel wiring, footer legal links. That is merge commit 73ab30fb, through d27f7ef (stop covering / with AuthLoadingScreen).
Excluded: deleting AuthLoadingScreen entirely (6dd7f91, 18 Aug). That commit is after the merge and is not expected on rho.
Findings
Live checks
| Check | Result | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Homepage HTTP | OK | 200. x-nextjs-prerender: 1, x-vercel-cache: STALE, age ~230s. ISR is on. |
| First paint is the real hero | OK | 337ms to DOMContentLoaded. H1 “Find Trusted Property” present in the HTML/RSC payload and visible immediately. Search box visible. |
No homepage loading.tsx |
OK | Initial document is the real landing, not a route-level fake layout. |
| Popular data from the server | OK | Project id 6980bfb7… is in the HTML. Browser did not call /api/search/popular. Only client auth call: fixera-server-silk…/api/auth/me. |
| Popular chips + cards | OK | Five chips match silk: Painter & Wallpaperer, Plumbing, Pest Control, Architect, Façade Work. Ten project cards. Chip click fills the search input. |
| Search | OK | Enter on “plumbing” goes to /search?type=projects&q=plumbing. |
| Project cards open | OK | /projects/6980bfb7a3cee24b59e857f6 returns 200 and shows title, €100, reviews, Continue. |
| Footer legal | OK | Privacy, terms, cookie policy links present. |
| Category bar streams | OK | Sub-nav categories visible after load. Initial HTML still contains animate-pulse for the category fallback, which is the intended stream, not the 3-card auth overlay. |
| Service landing carousel | Partial | Code is on rho (“Popular Plumber projects” in HTML). After load the section disappears because the API filter does not match the CMS title. service=Plumber → 0 rows; service=Plumbing → 4. Interior Design → 0 either way. |
| AuthLoadingScreen deleted | Not on rho | Out of scope. After load, homepage is not stuck on the 3-card overlay (merged d27f7ef). The component still exists in this deploy. |
Takeaway
Takeaway
Yes: PR 239’s homepage work is live on rho and behaves as designed. Hard-refresh / and you get the real landing from cache, with popular chips and project cards already in the server payload.
The remaining functional gap is the service-page carousel: it queries popular-projects with the CMS/page title (Plumber, Interior Design) while the search index uses names like Plumbing. Homepage cards are unfiltered, so they show. Service pages often render the heading then collapse to nothing.
If the 3-card grey overlay still flashes on rho, that is AuthLoadingScreen still in the merged tree, not a missing PR 239 deploy. Removing that overlay is a separate commit that is not on this URL yet.
